History: Wat Phra That Doi Kwang Kham created by Kruba Chaiyawongsapatthana There is a legendary story, Kruba Chaiyawongsapatthana knew that on Khun Huay Pong Dang  Mountain there are Phra Maha Thera’s  Footprints in the soil. When He visited and found Phra Maha Thera’s Footprints on this mountain, he started to pray and had a dejavu moment realising himself as born as Phaya Kwang Kham who had attained enlightenment and was shot dead by a hunter at that exact place. Afterwards, he built this temple as a permanent monument, a sacred place to promote Buddhism. At present, in the Vihan, there is an Emperor Buddha, decorated by sparkling diamonds and gems, including the Buddha's Footprints “Doi Kwang” that is much respected by local people who come and pay homage.
