History: The construction started in 1918 and completed in 1920, it is a white arch-shaped bridge of western style, it is a historic bridge. What makes it unique and challenging is that this is a reinforced concrete bridge. Normally railroad bridges are only built with steel because it is able to withstand vibration and is more flexible.
Because the bridge was built during the war time, finding steel to build a bridge in that time was difficult and unaffordable. But thanks to excellent engineering and work control by General Her Royal Highness HRH, Chaiyakorn Krom Phra Kamphaengphet Akkarothin, the White Bridge is still functional and still in good condition today. Presently, it has become a photogenic point for tourists. It is considered the landmark of Lamphun Province. Every 14th February annually, there will be couples arriving for a wedding register at the White Bridge.
